Turkey May Rejoin F-35 Program

According to the German newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau, Donald Trump has reportedly started to warm up to the idea of delivering F-35 fighter jets to Turkey following a phone call with President Erdoğan.

The report recalls that Turkey was removed from the program in 2019 after purchasing Russian-made S-400 air defense systems. It further states that, in a possible second term, Trump is seeking a legal and technical basis to reintegrate Turkey into the program. According to Fox News, Trump has instructed his team to work on lifting sanctions against Turkey.
